We have a busy May coming to Garibaldi Secondary.
Here is a list of events to keep you informed of all that is happening during the month of May! As you will see, we have an incredibly dedicated staff who provide a variety of active learning opportunities for our students.
May 1st – Group of students attend the “Be who you are” presentation by Ivan Coyote. This district sponsored event will take place at Westview Secondary School.
May 2nd – Grade 12 Criminology, Law and History students spend the day at the Vancouver Police Museum. Mr. Silva’s classes will visit the Vancouver Police Museum and participate in a CSI investigation
May 3rd – Culinary Arts students will be competing in the district Chowder Competition held at Garibaldi this year.
May 3-6 Mr. Gubert and the fishing club will see if the fish are biting at Salmon Lake during their annual fishing trip.
May 7 & 8th – May Music Madness concerts at 7:00pm. Admission is by donation to food bank. You will be entertained by the school bands and choir and have the opportunity to purchase some delicious Krispy Kreme donuts.
May 9th – Choir students will be performing at the ACT Theatre.
May 9th – Final PAC Meeting of the year at 6pm in the library
May 10th – Psychossession in Theatre at 7pm. Entry is $6 or by donation of canned food ite, See a variety of skits, dances and musical performances. You will not be disappointed!
May 14th – Grade 10 Math and Social Studies students will spend the day at Fort Langley.
May 15th – Know More Awareness tour on display all day.
May 16th – ACCESS students visit Sci3nce World
May 16th – Collaboration schedule
May 16th – Fishing Club visits Wood Lake near Harrison
May 17th – Music students attending Kiwanis Festival
May 18th – Collaboration schedule
May 19-24th – Music program is on exchange to Fredericton, New Brunswick
May 22nd – Non-Instructional Day – students do not attend school
May 25th – Grade 8 Music students attending Kiwanis Festival
May 29th – Annual Aboriginal Awards at the ACT at 5:00pm
May 30th – Grade 7 Exchange Day on May 30th. On that day our current grade 8s stay home and next year’s grade 8 students come and visit the school for the day to experience a snapshot of what high school at Garibaldi will be like. This is always an exciting day for next year’s students as well as our current staff and students.
May 31st – Fishing Club to Alouette River
May 31st – ICBC Road Sense presentation for grade 11 & 12 students
